Constructing the Improvement Process Protocol
The purpose of this protocol is to get everyone on the same page.
Preparation
1. 15 minutes. Groups use supplies to create visual representation of how school
improvement works. They can
edit any of the sheets as needed.
2. 5 minutes. Groups discuss where their school is in the process.
3. 10 minutes. Post group creations. Everyone walks around, looking at the
representations.
4. 10 minutes. Ask people to compare and contrast the projects.
5. 5-15 minutes. See if group can agree to any steps in how to proceed with school
improvement.

- Materials: poster paper, tape, markers, envelope (contains eight sheets of paper, each one containing one of the steps of the Data Wise Improvement Process).
